So I Realize It’s Been A While…

I am sorry for my lapse in blogging… You know when we moved here I don’t think I knew how tough it would be to balance everything, and I must say I haven’t done really well. It’s been tough to balance working a full time job, planting a church, and being Hubby and Daddy… The last two have suffered… But I am working on it…

So since the last time I have blogged we have had a Vision gathering that went well and we also had our second preview service which I feel like went really well… The band continues to sound great, the attendance is growing, and right now our biggest needs are to get people plugged into some key positions and raising funds… At our first preview service we had 27 people in attendance, this past Sunday on Jan 4th, we had 52 people in attendance… It was good to see a good crowd, and everything went well… Continuing to work on our website to try and have it ready by the launch… Be praying with us and for us that we will be ready for Feb 8th and that God will send us the people… Our team is in the middle of a 21 day Daniel fast, so join me in praying for each of them that God will show Himself to be mighty in their lives and that during this fast they will experience Him in a very real way…

We are working on a new design for our website, which will be ready for our launch. We are excited about what we know God is calling us to do here in Augusta, and can’t wait till we are having services every week…

A GREAT DAY…

First let me say how AWESOME God is… He has been so good and faithful to Jessica and me and we are so thankful for all he has done in us, through us, and for us.

A huge thank you to our team. I am so proud of them. First of all because they put up with me which is a lot to ask in itself but they do what they do with excellence and that showed yesterday. I don’t know if they are committed to excellence because I cram it down their throat or if that’s just who they are but I was so proud yesterday of all of them. Josh and the band sounded great, the ladies doing our kids ministries were amazing and organized, our sound guy was on top of it, and the chick doing media was SMOKIN HOT and she did a good job (my wife Jessica)… I was so proud of all of them. A big thanks to all those who attended if your reading this your visit meant the world to us and we hope that you will definitely consider joining our team and finding your place in this awesome story that God is writing. A BIG thank you to all of our Financial Partners, nothing we do would be possible without your commitment to sow into the lives of people you have yet to meet, God will truly bless you for your giving…

It was a great day… There were 27 people in attendance… The Worship was anointed and powerful… and I felt like everybody enjoyed being there…

We have 2 Vision gatherings coming up, the first is this coming Sunday the 14th and the second is Sunday the 28th, both of them at 5:00 at 107 Barefield Dr. Hephzibah, GA.

Our next Preview Service is January 4th at 11:00 @ Tobacco Road Elementary School…

Not Much Sleep Last Night…

I was up most of the night trying to finish getting ready for this morning and because I am jacked up man… This is gonna be a great day even if it’s just me and Jessica there. Man, if you would have asked me 2 years ago if I would believe that I would be in Augusta planting a church about to have our first service ever, I wouldn’t have believed you. But we are here and we are trusting God to take our efforts that seem futile at times and do what they do at McDonalds… SUPERSIZE EM’… If we do all we can to make it excellent and we bust our tails and work hard then it’s on Him… We are believing for great things today… If you read this, this morning, all 2 of you, say a prayer for us…

Preview Service #1

So I realized after writing the last post that I have never really blogged about our first preview service, the last time I blogged about it, we had not yet found a place to have the service, well we do now… God has definitely answered that prayer… We will be having our first two preview services at Tobacco Road Elementary School… The Principal Mrs. Williams who also serves in the Military (really sweet lady) has been great to us, as well as the custodial staff. I am really looking forward to working with them. The facility is going to be great for what we are trying to do, and after the first two preview services we will re-evaluate and decide if we want to go into a long-term lease with the Board of Education…

We are really excited about the preview and can’t wait to see who comes and what God does…

First Friday In Augusta…

A few of us on our ministry team went to Downtown Augusta tonight for First Friday… We handed out close to 400 promos for our preview service on Sunday… We are jacked up and can’t wait. We are trying to get everything nailed down, and it’s looking good. Hoping the people we have invited will come and hang out with us…

My Friend… My Pastor… The BISHOP…

Wednesday afternoon I got a call from a friend in LaGrange who informed me that my friend Perry Keyt had passed away. Immediately my heart sank, I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I was speechless!! Perry had moved from Powder Springs to be our Pastor at Callaway Park In LaGrange in September of 2007 and a few weeks after his move he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. He fought and fought, and it was looking good at one point, and thats when Jessica and I and Pastor Perry decided that it was time for us to step out on faith and Plant Oasis Church in Augusta… Well, over the last few months he started to get worse, but he continued to fight, he fought right up until the last moment, because thats what Fighters do, they fight…

Perry (or who I like to refer to as BISHOP or PEPPY) was a man of unquestionable character and Integrity, a man of unending compassion, and a vibrant passionate worshipper of God… I am forever changed and impacted by my time serving this great man… I didn’t always agree, in fact there were lots of times we didn’t agree, but even then I loved him… I am forever grateful for all I learned under his leadership and thankful to him for all he invested into me. I will never forget my time with him and the memories I have because of that time.

I went to the viewing tonight at Trinity Chapel in Powder Springs, and saw the multitudes of people who came to visit with this family and pay their respects to this great man who had in some way impacted their life. And I thought to myself, I hope one day when i am no longer here that this many people will have been so impacted by my life that they will feel a need to come and tell me Goodbye… As I looked at my friend laying in that casket I thought about some of the conversations we have had over the last year… and I wished at that time that I had the chance to have one more conversation with him… If so I would probably say…

BISHOP, I’m sorry things have turned out like this, but you have inspired me, you have taught me so much about faith and fighting the good fight, I am proud to have known you, served you, and honored to be able to call you friend. Thank you for all the time you invested into me and I am very appreciative of all you have done for me. Thanks for believing in me. I truly love you.

I’m SAD tonight, but I know my friend is in a better place, I pray for Missy, and Matthew, and Tiffany… That God would wrap his loving arms around them and speak comfort over them and breathe peace into their hearts…

Our First VISION GATHERING…

So I am definitely JACKED UP about our first vision gathering this Sunday Afternoon at 5:00, which is our first meeting that we are opening up to anybody and everybody. We are hoping for a few handfuls of people. We are just going to drink some coffee, and eat some snacks, and hang out and talk about the church. I will cast a little vision and talk about the kind of church we want to be and it will be a chance for My Team and I to connect with some folks that we can hopefully get plugged in to what we are doing.

We started two Impact Discipleship groups this week, 1 Mens Group with 5 of us and 1 Ladies Group with 5 Ladies. We are excited about Impact and what it’s going to do for us as individuals and also how it will help us Be & Build Disciples.

We are still trying to overcome the whole “nowhere to have service” challenge. We are looking at an old theatre and possibly a school so that is still an unresolved issue right now.

We are also trying to purchase, steal, and get donated some sound equipment. So if you have any ideas (Good Ones) please feel free to post a comment…

The money is still coming in slow, that definitely has not changed, but I am believing that God is gonna get it to us…

Matter of fact if your there reading this, and you want to plant a seed of $1000.00 then I will send you my book for free, OH WAIT I DIDN’T WRITE A BOOK, Oh Well, I guess no deal…

Exactly 4 Weeks from Today…

…we will be having our first of three preview services, we have a date, a time, a plan, but no location as of right now, BUT… WE WILL!! This week we are trying to nail it down, we may have to sacrifice the exact location we want to be in for the best situation but we know God has it under control. It’s a little overwhelming and very scary but it’s definitely exciting. We have some plans for promotion… We are going to go up town for “First Friday” and hand out promos, we’re going to go through some neighborhoods and do some door to door stuff, we are going to go to the college and pass out some promos, possibly something in the paper, and a lot of word of mouth. We have set a goal for our first preview service… we would like to see more than 50 adults in attendance. We had a leadership meeting tonight where we really laid out some plans for the service and how we won’t things to feel and flow. We have a lot of needs as far as equipment, if you know of anyone or any church that might have some stuff they would donate, please let me know… Please be in prayer for us that we will see the funds start coming in so that we can purchase the things we need to get started. Pray for our team that we will have the passion and determination to step up and pay the price that has to be paid for us to succeed. It’s getting closer and closer.
